For nearly a quarter of a century, crowds spill in their thousands onto Harpenden Common at the end of July to view the spectacular array of 1200 classic cars, scooters and motorbikes at Classics on the Common. Organised by Rotary in Harpenden, the charity arm of Harpenden Village Rotary Club, charities benefit too. Last year’s show raised £33,000 for local, national and international charities. Little wonder Classics on the Common, already Britain’s biggest mid-week classic car show, now ranks among the top events in the classics calendar.
