Over the next decade or so, the South of England needs to find space for literally thousands of new homes.
The Government target is for at least 60% of these homes to be built on previously developed land (known as 'Brownfield' land) or new sites that do not erode the Green Belt. In broad terms, planning policy seeks to make better use of land within existing towns a priority. Release of Green Belt land for building is still being resisted, unless there are special circumstances, or the land is part of a larger-scale regional development plan.
Putterill's Land and Development Department was founded in 2002 and covers the whole of Hertfordshire, bordering Counties and North London, from its suite of offices in the heart of Welwyn Garden City's busy town centre.
Land Director - Stephen Carson - has been involved in the property development business since 1987. He leads the department with expert knowledge, the ability to recognise and co-ordinate opportunities - from the smallest site to complicated multi-party site assemblies - and the skill to get the best deal for the land and property owners.
